- The sharp demarcation of voters on cast and religion line seems to be blurred. Power corridor built with innovative ‘social engineering’ with the help of ‘selected few’ and neglecting major section of the society are also getting dismantled in this elections. Thanks to Rahul Gandhi, for bringing back an era of ethical politics in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
- Despite Anna and his Team made its presence felt with the help of rhetoric, the elections campaigning is largely issue based, that too local issue. The people have shown maturity. They listened to everyone but finally talking what is important to them. It is a healthy development for democracy.
- Impressive participation of people in political process, campaigning as well as polling is again a healthy development.
- Unprecedented high polling in UP is people’s verdict for a stable government, which last full term. Yes, there is a possibility of a coalition government; coalition is a norm rather than exception in the present day politics in the country.
- State wide triangular and quadrangular contest may lead to vote fragmentation in such a way that a candidate needs lesser vote to win and it become more difficult to predict the overall results.
- SP despite retaining its impressive vote share of around 25 %, will not be able to improve it number of seats to a great extent. Its area of influence is densely located. It will ensure its victory with huge margin in some constituencies. However, the overall number of seats it wins will not be too much; maybe once again in double-digit.
- BSP will lose its vote share, but not a free fall. It is one party with large number of solid supporter, but this solid support from some quarter will alienate others and thus its number of seats will fall. But Mayawati is going to be the CM once again. She might need support and surprisingly BJP may support, maybe from outside the government.
- Having seen disappointing performance of all political parties during more than two decades, the voters look towards congress with hope. The ‘solid support’ of parties like SP and BSP, which supports irrespective of policies and performance of these parties and promising future in other parties will remain with them for the time being, but congress will get ‘at-least’ 22% of votes and congress will emerge as a force to reckon with. Congress’ biggest success is in setting the spirit and momentum of the election in UP in right direction.
- BJP, let us see how it performs!
- Finally poll results will tell the people’s verdict, let us wait for the tomorrow.
